-Guinness Storehouse - We read how touristy it is and is basically 7 floors of Guinness overload. Is that a bad thing tho? Especially with a view from the top.  For us spending the time in a small pub was of more interest.

DUBLIN PUBS

-Southbank at Ferryman-cool interior

-O'Donahough's-multiple sources recommend this pub

Long Hall-a fancy mirrored pub and one of the oldest in the city.

The Peadar Kearney’s-reasonable prices , a good mix between locals/ tourists, great atmosphere, and live music.

The Palace Bar, a traditional place with a lovely facade.

Chaplins Bar has an authentic Irish look, and you pay a reasonable price for a pint.

-Temple Bar - touristy

-The Bank-Pascal recommended

WEE BIT OF FUN

Irish used terms for rain.

A grand soft day – soft rain on a warm day no actual rain drops

Mist-damp air

Grey Out - thick mist

Only spitting - it might clear up, no need to stay in

Dry rain - Mist that doesn’t get you wet

Wetting rain-heavy mist looks harmless, but wets you through

even though it’s not technically raining

Squib - an attempt at a shower

fairy piss – light spots
bat pee – random droplets

Mizzling rain- between a mist and a  drizzle

Drizzle

Only spitting-light rain, won't keep you in

Soft rain -falls softly

Rotten day- umbrella material, grey, unrelenting but never downpours

raining stair rods-straight down and heavy

Pissing down-vertical hard rain you probably decide to stay in

Horizontal Rain’…the type that violates you from every
which angle

Bucketing - Rain with a period of buckets...you might stop to let it pass.

Hooring rain - windshield wipers full on, scurrying people

Pelting down - so harsh you will probably talk about it with someone, hurts your skin

Lashing rain-diagonal heavy rain actually bounces off the street. Only heavy duty umbrellas survive

sheets of rain – when heavy rain has wind behind it and you can see it come across in white “sheets”

Hammering down befuddles even the Irish. Can't hear yourself think.

Four seasons in a day

It’s a grand, soft day – more a fine, misty rain than pouring rain.

But what we really want is "a good day for drying" which is a dry day. Yay.
